❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE
This pie is so good, because we combines our delicious holiday pumpkin pie with our maple pecan pie and it turned out amazing. The softness of the pumpkin pie with the crunchy pecan topping is a wonderful treat. Then top it with whipped cream, add a cup of coffee and you have a delicious dessert!
🍴KEY INGREDIENTS
- Pumpkin, canned or fresh (not the pumpkin pie mix)
- Salt
- Evaporated milk
- Eggs
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Ginger
- Nutmeg
- Vanilla extract
- Ground cloves
- Uncooked pie shell
Maple Pecan Topping Ingredients:
- Pecans
- Brown sugar
- Real maple syrup
- Vanilla extract
SWAPS
You could always switch out walnuts for the pecans if you love walnuts. We have always loved pecans with pumpkin. I think you could also use honey in place of the maple syrup.
🍽️HOW TO MAKE
This pie is easy to make and there have been times when I have been in a hurry I didn’t even use the mixer to mix it up, just used a spoon and made sure it mixed well.
COOKING STEPS
Step 1
Combine pumpkin, salt, milk, eggs in a bowl and mix well with mixer. Add sugar, spices and vanilla and continue to mix.
Step 2
Pour into the pie shell. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking 35 to 45 minutes until center is set.
Step 3
8-10 minutes before pie is done cooking, take out of oven and sprinkle maple pecan topping to the top of the pie. Place pie back in the oven and continue baking till completely cooked through.
Step 4
Maple Pecan Topping Instructions: mix all ingredients together and gently sprinkle over pie.
⭐TIP
You need to let this pie cool before serving so you could easily make it a day in advance.
SERVE THIS WITH

- 1 9 inch uncooked pie shell
Maple Pecan Topping:
- 1 cup of chopped pecans
- 1/3 cup of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of real maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
