When will I get Android 14?

Quick Links

Android 14 is the latest major OS update for Android phones everywhere, with several new features and capabilities built onto the platform that Google first implemented with Android 12 in 2021.

The major new features include new lock screen customization options, cinematic wallpapers – which also made an appearance in Android 13 – plus AI-generated wallpapers, improved text scaling and better optimization and enhancement for larger folding screens and tablets.

Check below for your phone brand. If your model and/or brand is listed, it means there’s a version of the new software that’s been announced or made available for your device.

When will Android 14 be available?

  • On Google Pixel phones since Oct. 4, 2023
  • Samsung is working on updating its massive catalog of supported phones

Google had originally planned to push Android 14 to the public back in August, but it decided to hold the update back until after its Made by Google event (where the Pixel 8 series and its special features got the spotlight) on Oct. 4. Android 14 has actually been available in one form or another since February, when the first developer preview landed. Those previews became betas starting in April. Other manufacturers – including Lenovo, Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi – opened up Android 14 beta programs for their own devices starting in May.

As always, there’s some lag time between when Google pushes updates and when the other OEMs are able to do so. But in the case of a handful of brands – Samsung at the forefront among them – those gap times have closed up. Some late model flagships take weeks instead of months to get the OS bump while budget-tier devices are no longer waiting half a year or more for the same luxury.

We’ve listed phones generally available in North America that are either destined to get or have already gotten Android 14. As always, you can check on the status of your software by heading to Settings, then System, and look for software or system updates.

When will your phone get Android 14?

Google Pixel phones

Google’s own Pixel phones were the first to get the official public release of Android 14. The software has been rolled out to the following devices as of October 4:

  • Pixel 4a (5G)
  • Pixel 5
  • Pixel 5a
  • Pixel 6 and 6 Pro
  • Pixel 6a
  • Pixel 7 and 7 Pro
  • Pixel 7a
  • Pixel Fold
  • Pixel Tablet

For the sake of completeness, we’ll mention here that the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro launched with Android 14.

Lenovo/Motorola devices

Lenovo and Motorola generally run with a lighter-touch skin on top of Android. You can find software update schedules for Lenovo here and Motorola here.

Here are the Lenovo products due to get Android 14.

  • Tab Extreme – Q1 2024
  • Tab M10 5G – By end of Apr. 2024
  • Tab M11 – By end of June 2024
  • Tab P12 – Q2 2024
  • Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen) – 2024
  • Tab P11 (2nd Gen) – 2024
  • Yoga Tab 13 – End of Q2 2023

And here are the Motorola products (which don’t have listed timelines):

  • Razr+
  • Moto Edge+ (2023)
  • Moto Edge+ (2022)
  • Moto Edge 30 Fusion
  • Moto Edge (2022)
  • Moto G 5G (2023)
  • Moto G Stylus (2023)
  • Moto G Stylus 5G (2023)
  • Moto G Power 5G (2023)

Presumably, the Razr (2023) should also make the cut, but we did not see it on the site as of this writing.

Nothing phones

After an extensive beta program for the Nothing Phone (2), the company is in the midst of rolling out Nothing OS 2.5 as of this latest update. It includes a selection of new widgets, new wallpapers, and new shortcut gestures. Nothing will update the Phone (2) first, while an open beta for the Phone (1) should open before the new year.

  • Nothing Phone (2) – December 2023
  • Nothing Phone (1) – Beta to begin before 2024

OnePlus phones

OxygenOS 14 brings a lot of nitty-gritty tweaks for long-term performance upkeep, privacy, and a more intuitive user interface.

Keep updated on OxygenOS by checking your device section of the OnePlus community forums.

Here’s where things stand on the rollout:

  • OnePlus Open – Unknown
  • OnePlus Pad – December 2023 (India Only)
  • OnePlus 11 series – November 2023
  • OnePlus 10 series – November/December 2023
  • OnePlus 9 series – November/December 2023

Other devices we haven’t listed including the OnePlus 8T and a number of Nord phones are also set to get the update, but those have been announced for India only. We’re not certain that North American devices will get the upgrade.

Samsung phones

Samsung was relatively late in bringing its One UI 6 platform to testers, but the software update has already started rolling out for some devices. And to cap it off, Samsung even shared a detailed rollout schedule for a huge number of its phones in Europe. In fact, if your phone was released during the past two years, it’s likely to get an update before the end of 2023. They are as listed below:

  • Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra – October 30
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 – November 13
  • Galaxy A34 and A54 – November 13
  • Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra – November 15
  • Galaxy S23 FE – November 20
  • Galaxy A13 5G, A33 5G, and A53 5G – November 20
  • Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra – November 20
  • Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 – November 20
  • Galaxy S21 FE – November 24
  • Galaxy S23 FE – November 24
  • Galaxy A52 and A52s 5G – November 27
  • Galaxy A13 and A23 5G – November 27
  • Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 – November 27
  • Galaxy A72 – November 30
  • Galaxy A25 5G – December 1
  • Galaxy A04s – December 4
  • Galaxy XCover5 – December 8
  • Galaxy A05s, A14 5G, A52 5G, and Tab A7 Lite – Undetermined

To be clear, this timeline is for European devices. The One UI 6 rollout for North American devices is likely similarly structured, but will have extra lag time. SamMobile reported on US Galaxy S23 devices getting the update on November 10. The S23 FE bump went live on December 12.
